Measuring Engagement Without Vanity Metrics

Footfall photos look impressive, but retailers care about restocks, recommendations, and whether staff still mention the brand next month.

Count of stores visited is a starting point, not a result. Stronger signals include repeat orders after an activation, share of shelf for priority SKUs, and whether clerks can still describe the offer two weeks later.

Agree measurement with retailers up front. Some partners will share sell-through; others will only confirm display compliance. Design your report around what you can honestly collect.

Close every wave with a short debrief: what retailers asked for, which materials were ignored, and which stores deserve a loyalty-cycle follow-up. That habit turns one-off programs into a living trade relationship.
